An avid lover of photography for several years, Kathryn Langsford initially pursued a career in social work; the combination of these two passions lead to her photographic specialty being children. Her repertoire has since expanded to include pregnancy , adults and corporate photography. A self-taught artist and entrepreneur, she has quickly become successful and developed a broad, loyal client base in various cities across Canada and the United States.

Kathryn photographs exclusively in black and white and is very committed in her decision to remain a film photographer. She uses both 35mm and medium format camerasand a wide range of film choices, depending on the day, the light and the face in front of her.

Kathryn views portraiture as the art of character expression, a true reflection of natural charisma. She aims to capture the many sides of her subject's personality - either on location or in her Vancouver studio. Shooting her subjects in a friendly, relaxed manner, Kathryn's focus is on the comfort and enjoyment of those she photographs. Years of working with and photographing people and a keen and artful eye has honed her ability to create beautifully unique,artistic portraits.
